Service minimum charge is $179. Parts are extra.
For Road, Mountain, Gravel.
Recommended every 50 hours of riding
45-60 minutes. Parts are extra. Hydro brake bleeds are a separate charge.
Bikes that have the components mounted, needs finishing assembly and adjustment. (60 minutes). Tri-bikes are charged by the hour due to usually difficult handlebar setups. Understand that very inexpensive bikes will be assembled safely and correctly, but will have squeaky suspension and poor working brakes because that's what they do.
The bike industry has chosen to create a clean looking design, running the cables internally through the stem and headset on many bikes. This results in headset service or cable/hose changes taking hours rather than minutes, due to the fact that to do any work in this area, the bars are oun-taped, both brake hoses disconnected, if there are derailleur cables, they will be disconnected, just to get inside. Hundreds of dollars between labor, and any parts that can't be re-used, which happens. Yay,
Note: In my experience, the rim brake works well. The rear band brake barely works at all. I like the Schwinn overall and recommend it over the generic Amazon offering. By a lot. The Sun brand, Raleigh and Worksman Industrial that you buy at bike shops are excellent, also. I will only assemble or service these 4 brands.
These can be added to a tune or be the subject(s) of a service call. Parts are extra. Service minimum charge is $179
This is the minimum charge for Mix-n-Match jobs listed below.
Install a new tube or tire. Tube or tire are extra.
I offer 2 things for those that only need a flat or 2 to be fixed: (because the minimum charge is $179 for labor)
1) I will teach you or how to change a flat. or
2) I will use the rest of the hour servicing or safety-checking any bikes you'd like me to look at.
New cables are often the best way to improve the feel of a bike! Wires installed with premium cable grease. Cables and housing are extra.
Apply tape to a clean rim. Install the tire with sealant. Sealant included, tape or valve is extra.
Labor intensive cleaning of old gunk off the rim bed. Valve is extra, if needed.
Suggest once a year or every second pad replacement. More often if you cook your brakes on Bell Pass or Geronimo Trail!
This service will make your expensive fork or shock last a lot longer and work significantly better. Factory recommendation is 50 hours. I say 100 hours max in dry weather. Mine are dirty at 50-60, AZ riding. SEAL KITS ARE EXTRA. If your suspension has more than 125 hours, see the next item:
This is for removing and reinstalling a fork or shock, with SENDING to the FACTORY FOR SERVICE in the middle. FACTORY SERVICE AND SHIPPING ARE A SEPARATE CHARGE.
Specialized "Brain" suspension is a special case, some versions can be serviced, case by case question.
Everyone waits until their bearings fail. Then extracting the split housings from the swingarm is a lovely PIA. If you have a couple hundred hours on your bike, they are all worn and your suspension is sticky. If you have more than that you are walking on thin ice.
Each component. Parts extra. *See section on new internally routed cables through the stem, above.
Each component. Parts extra
The industry debacle of noisy press-fit bottom brackets trundles on. The issue could be caused by worn parts but there is an unhappy fact that sometimes the frame sleeve is not round, There are maintenance tricks that can quiet noises for a time. Some types of bottom brackets bearings can reduce noises but there is no guarantee that all noise will be eliminated.
Often ignored, these parts see a lot of stress and are worth a clean and lube once a year if ridden regularly.
Skill, tools and experience for a wide variety of repairs and installs.
Minimum service charge $179 Let's discuss your needs! 623-252-0706
Labor is warrantied for 30 days. If you have a question or a problem, please call me. Failures of things I didn't work on are not warrantied. Parts warranties, if any, are from the manufacturer. I will handle that warranty for 30 days after purchase from me no charge. I will not extend the warranty because you didn't ride your bike.
There is no warranty against flat tires.
If you get a flat on a tube I replaced within 7 days of installation, I will come back for no labor charge to replace the tube. If it's defective, it's free. If you got a puncture, I'll charge for the replacement tube and sealant. Please understand, you need to at lease check your tire pressure every few days. Riding on low tire pressure causes as many failures as thorns or glass. See below...
See the picture near this text. If your valves are crooked, your tubes are ruined, most likely. This is caused by riding the bike on low tire pressure. The flat is caused by the cut in the valve from riding low on air. Low pressure also causes what is called a "pinch flat" where the low tire allows the rim to smack the ground, pinching the tube and cutting it. If I see a crooked valve I will suggest replacement right there. Best advice, check your tires every ride, like tying your shoes! :-)
Noise chasing is a problematic subject. There are half a dozen common causes of noises that mostly are fixed in a general service. There are a few other less common ones that aren't that hard to suss out. Then there are the mystery noises. The ones that a mechanic (or several mechanics) will put $500-$1000 (and more) of shop labor and still may not find the culprit. A poorly made (high dollar) carbon frame bottom bracket was a recent one. The all-time horror story was a mystery creak, 3 shop mechanics, even boxing it up and shipping to the factory, with no solution. Easily $5000 in shop labor. Unpaid, of course. My current policy is I will work on a bike for a pre-set time, for a pre-set price, following my experience and the known checklist of problems. No solution is guaranteed, and you need to be ok with that beforehand or I need to not come out.
Nope.
Recumbents require working on the ground, and my back and knees say no to that.
